Who we are

Melr Hair is a hair studio in Enfield, North London. We decide how your information is used, and you can contact us about it at business.melrhair@gmail.com.

Your bag, even if you don't finish

When you add an appointment or a product to your bag, we save it on our system so your chosen time can be held and your bag stays the same across pages, tabs and visits.

• What we save: the services, extras and products in your bag, the time you picked, and the name, email and phone number you type on the bag page, as you type them, even if you don't pay.
• Why: to hold your time for you, to help if something goes wrong at checkout, and to understand where people get stuck so we can make booking easier.
• Reminders: if you tick the box, we'll email you once if you don't finish. We won't email you about your bag otherwise.
• We also note the type of device you used, the first page you visited and the site that sent you (for example Instagram), so we know how people find us. We don't use advertising trackers.

Your bag is also kept in your browser's storage on your device, so it stays in place as you move around the site. You can clear it by emptying your bag or clearing your browser's site data.

Waiting list and booking emails

If no time suits you, you can join the waiting list for a month on the Book page.

• What we save: your first name, email, the month you want and the services you chose, so we only tell you about times long enough for your appointment.
• What we send: an email when a time becomes free that month, at most once a day. If you tick the box, we also email you each month when the next month's bookings open.
• How long we keep it: until that month ends, you book that month, or you leave the list. Monthly booking emails continue until you stop them.
• Stopping: every email has a link to leave the list or stop the monthly emails, straight away and without signing in.

Bookings and orders

When you book or buy, we keep your name, contact details, appointment details, any notes you add, your delivery address for shop orders, and a record of what you paid. We use these to look after your appointment or order, contact you about it and keep our accounts.

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How long we keep it

• Bags you didn't finish are deleted 90 days after you last used them.
• For bags you paid for, we remove your contact details from the bag record after 90 days. Your booking or order itself is kept for as long as we need it for our records and the law, usually six years for accounts.
• Messages from our contact form are kept for as long as we need them to reply and follow up.

Who sees it

Only our team, and the companies that help us run the website, take payments and send emails, who may only use it to provide their service to us. We never sell your information.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for reminders. Email business.melrhair@gmail.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
